Why can't you put the machines closer to the left wall and back on the pedestals. This would give you space for a decent sized countertop on the right.

A drawing and measurements might help. I'm not getting the layout very well.
Sure seems like you have alot of room next to your toilet. Is there room to move your sink next to the toilet to free up room on the other wall?

Raise the four center cabinets to the top of the others. And raise your w/d on their drawers beneath them. Then build counters on both sides for sorting, etc.

Remove the random toilet and then post a to scale floor plan showing windows , doorways and where the plumbing is and in your case the gas line. This eems like a laerge space so not sure what the issues are,

the left wall is the one with the mop sink. I know the toilet is random looking, though my in-laws lived with us before they passed away and we put the toilet and walk in tub for them for ease. keeping the toilet even though it may look weird! Patricia there are no windows in the room. Lisa that is a thought to have a sink basin by the toilet! Shirlpp moving them to the left is what I am debating!!

In your first photo, it looked like you already had a nice vanity and sink in the room. That's what I would move next to the toilet.

Yes, I would put your washer and dryer, on their pedestals, next to the mop sink. The next wall would get uppers and lowers with a counter, leaving room for laundry baskets and maybe even one of those sorter things. I'm jealous. I have a decent sized laundry room as well, that I share with the furnace...👎
As long as it's already plumbed, I would also keep the toilet, making for a half bath in the house. 👍

Lisa, thank you! That vanity was a non working one from a bathroom remodel sitting there collecting dust, today it is at the curb for free for hopefully someone to use in their home! The space near the toilet is a bit scrunched only 42" from toilet to the wall that has the entry door. Behind the entry door is an electrical panel and I don't think I can put anything that close due to code? I'll look it up though!

Yep. I would dare guess you are correct.
I'd still keep the toilet and figure out a sink, even if its a small pedestal.
Looks like a great area for a cupboard of some kind though.

Perhaps, if you are not currently using the toilet in that room, you can safely cap it off for use in the future. And build over or around it. Shelving, etc. that could be easily removed at a later date when it is needed again. I am not sure that this can be done to code. Others would have to weigh in on that.

ptreckel, the toilet is used frequently as it is across from our bedroom and by an outdoor entrance so while it will stay I am also kind of trying to build around it! I think some sort of freestanding cabinet might be a good answer for next to it though!
