Exterior paint dilemma

I am looking to paint the window trim and possibly the front door and garage of my house. We are going to remove the shutters from the front of the house and remove the posts as well, since they are rotting.

The issues I am having is what colors to choose. The gutter in the front is a reddish color, and the brick mortar also has a reddish hue. We do not want to paint the brick or the siding at this point but would like to paint the trim around the window, the front and side door, and the garage. We also will be replacing the front posts, so those would need to be chosen as well.

Any suggestions??

You'll need to replace the posts with something as they hold up your overhang.

I am so happy those shutters are going. As for the posts those will need to replaced so you will have to think about what you want there .I don’t have much idea of your style but this is one of my favorite colors with brick and I would do the siding too

If you're not painting the siding now I would probably paint the garage door the same color as the siding. I agree with getting rid of the shutters. When you replace the posts I would go with something more substantial as the existing ones look too small. You could look at painting the windows going in two directions, lighter (creamy white) or darker (espresso). If you decided to paint the siding I think that opens up more options for you. The plum color on the doors doesn't seem to really work with the brick. A dark rust color or maybe even a warmer dark taupe (gray brown) would work. When you do paint the doors I would pain the one from the garage the same color as the garage door so the main front door becomes a focal point.

Can't tell if your garage door "windows" are open or covered. Opening them will be a nice update. Pressure washing all your trim and the porch ceiling first is a must. Beefy square posts, new and larger lantern lights (about 1/3 of the door's height,) and a color similar to the darkest of your bricks will work well. Increase the size of your house numbers and mount them above the garage door.

I wish I knew the color but if you look a gray/ greens from BM I think you will find one close.

@decoenthusiaste When you say, "a color similar to the darkest color of your bricks" would that be for the garage or house doors? Could I leave the siding color as is?

Also, if I updated the square posts, what color would you paint those? I was thinking of doing square posts instead but also was stuck on what color or wood type to use.

I like Beverly's rendition with all siding, doors and posts the same color. I do think the portion of the garage gable that is hanging out in space on the left needs a post under it too. That might require some adjustments on the walk/stoop to set it on. Cedar holds up well.
