Wowee! I am just going to have to make one of these. Are your fabrics mostly solids? I asked Sharon that yesterday too. I have very few all solids in my stash and like the results you are getting.

Thanks, Ladies. It's hard to tell by the photo, but the fabrics are mostly small prints and mottled fabrics, very few actual solids. I just used whatever I had in my stash of 2" strips. I did try to be sure to include some brights. My fabric choices seem to tend toward the darker side, as a rule, so I have more grays, browns, purples, dark blues and greens than I do brights. I also threw in a few wild (for me) print scraps too. Jackie's version (shown below) used more bold prints, and I think it looks wonderful. In truth, I like her version better. Her scrap pile is much more interesting than mine.

Regarding solids: Sometimes a small print will show as TOT or solid when you stand across the room and look at it. If questionable, give it the test and see if it works for you.

Jackie's is gorgeous! It's interesting to see them together and analyze them. I do love the bright colors, too. I want to make one, it will be a hard decision for me.

Very nice quilt, Lois. I would make the extra blocks to make it symmetrical - and I know that feeling of being tired of making blocks! Put it away for a few days, and come back to it.

Very nice, Lois! I think I would end up either making the extra blocks or removing one row each way and adding borders to get the size I want.

This one's on my list, too. I saw that the pattern uses 2 or 2-1/2 strips and I don't have a huge stash of those, but I do have a mountain of 1-1/2 strips, so I may change it up and use them.

Oh, I meant to add a word of caution for anyone who plans to make this quilt. Be sure you position the first set of white triangles the same on each block. In the photo below, I have outlined the two pieces that should be positioned the same in each block. Keep the smaller piece consistently either to the right or to the left (choose one) of the triangles in all of the blocks, otherwise the blocks will not meet correctly at the non-white corners. Ask me how I know. RRRrrrip! I'm just glad I noticed it after I made the first four blocks and not later.

Jackie and Lois, both of your pineapple quilts are stunning! The colors are beautifully placed with great contrast. I really like that pattern. I may have to purchase this one from BH. And your triangle quilt too....so beautiful!

It's so pretty and colorful. I would put a white border and a solid scrappy binding on it and call it a day.

Well, some things are so serendipitous. I sent the photo of my quilt to my sister, just to show her what I've been up to. She thought it was beautiful. This morning I got a text from her. She and her guy have just rebuilt an older home in Connecticut and are in the process of decorating. They want the quilt as a wall hanging for a wall that they've been trying to figure out what to do with. They are so excited. They are both artists, and they love the lack of symmetry and the way the pattern just runs off the edge. They love the idea that it was made of bits and pieces of leftover fabrics, just the way quilts used to be made in the past. So, my little quilt has found its home. Now I just have to finish it.
