I have a massive strangler fig tree that overhangs my brick deck and an adjacent fish pond. Starting in April it started to drop tiny figs the size of jelly beans.

It drops like rain. It's everywhere.

You cannot ignore it, because half of it drops on the bricks and bust open. You cannot sweep with a broom because the figs will smear with the slightest of pressure and stain the bricks.

The only way I have been able to do it is to use a leaf blower to blow as much as I can into a corner, then gently swept them into a dust pan.

But then many figs drop into my fish pond, some of them float on water so I scoop them up with a net (twice a day), the riped ones sink the bottom and I can smell it, it started to ferment, the water smells like wine, my fish are getting sluggish, I do a major water change twice a day.

Yet I am losing this battle. I thought may be a leaf vacuum would vac up these figs. I have a gas blower/vac, and I changed it to vac mode to try to get it to pick up the figs. I am surprised it started to pick them up into the vac tube then it all fell back down. These are really small and light, I thought a vac should be able to pick it up.

Anyone know of a stronger leaf vac that can pick up these jelly bean size figs?

Is there something I can do to reduce the fruits from this tree? Is there a fallopian tube in a tree I can "cap off" LOL?
