Even though this pic looks like a match it is not. Plus they are very old and one is busted. So I’m not sure if we should go with body color on the doors?

I always think garage doors look better with windows. Raised panels would be nice. The color of the siding is better, but the trim color would work, too.

We have Smokey Ash LP. Not sure what color yours is. We went with wood-look Clopay garage doors with windows. Really let’s a lot of light in! Hopefully the picture will attach!

I would aim for the siding color, to make them less dominant on the front facade. Maybe a shade lighter, but not all the way to trim tone.

What a wonderful place to put an eyebrow pergola over the garage doors. Look it up on Houzz. Will add tons of interest and could be extended to tie in your front door. I would explore angular, modern garage doors for something new and different to add loads of interest.

Good suggestions so far thank you. The garage doors do not face the front of the house. It’s in the side of the house. I like the idea of the garage pergola though. Hoping celetygirl or someone can mock up garage door colors for me 😀

Normally I like the same color so doors aren’t prominent, but in your case there really isn’t anything else to draw the eye. Therefore, suggest a really attractive style and paint one or two shades lighter than siding - they will become an attractive feature. You could add larger coach lights and an urn between garage and side door

Even though the garage doors aren’t in front, I would match them to the siding color. I like the panel/window style doors, but the adding of a small pergola sounds perfect for your house. It’s stunning! So many interesting outside features!

Maureen some good points. Your right this side of house really doesn’t have much to look at compared to the rest of the house. There is no door color that exactly matches either the body or trim. I wonder if a wood grain might look nice? Agree on putting something between the doors. I typically have something there I am just between seasons. I had this container there for winter but ended up moving it to the front instead. I definitely will add something for summer....soon I hope.....27 degrees here last night 👎🏼

Are all of the pics you posted your house? Is the garage the front or side? Who sees it?

The style you picked will absolutely complement your home. And your idea on how to paint it. I think a wood door would look out of place on your house.

Since it is just at the side and not front you have so many options. I don’t see any other wood though. So although in style with your house I don’t know that I would add it.

Red Ryder ok thanks. At first I just thought all body color (dark) but then thought painting the trim color like example attached might give me more of a focal point. Plus the windows add a nice touch.

AS. Ok agree. Only the front and side doors are wood and not easily seen so what your saying makes good sense.

Painting the doors dark to match the house with the trim the same as the house would complement the look of your home. Do guests park their cars on the garage side? Ours do and our garage is consistent with our house as well. I love wood garage doors and have had two houses where I installed them but it would just feel like you did that because you liked them. IMO they would be less cohesive than painted ones. (I really love your house, BTW.)

Yes RedRyder they do. I agree matching the house probably best. The color choices are close to a match but off slightly so I think we’ll have to paint them once they come in. Now to get hubby to pull the trigger and get them ordered and then he’ll have to paint them too. Always a project lol. Thanks for your advice and compliment 😊

We were able to get large samples of door colors. This seems to be the closest to the body of the house. A bit dark but same undertones I think. What do you think of this color? I cropped out the current garage door so that it didn’t affect the appearance of the sample.

Our door was painted on site the colour we chose. Then we could match it perfectly. Is this an option?

The garage doors come in several colors. None of them match exactly. We have paint to paint them to an exact match. But the garage door company does not paint them no.

Yes we will have to do the same. Can I ask want color door you purchased and what colored you painted. Like should I buy something white or a color as close to my trim and then paint. What did you do? Thanks

White and painted onyx which is essentially black

That manufacturer color is pretty close. If you buy it in that color and paint the trim to match your home, you may not need to repaint it.
