In the corner at the bottom of the stairs, you might consider a wall hung corner shelving unit or small corner cabinet.

fits your corner, then, space height permitting, you could invest in two: set one on the floor but remove the feet from the second one and hang it from the wall above the other.

To ensure the cabinet does not block the heat/air vents, you might add that second pair of legs to the first to raise its eight for more air flow beneath the cabinet set on the floor.

An even better idea might be a wall hung box shelf for that wall beside the steps.

Thanks for the advice on the keys, but there’s only pretty much keychains from trips 😊 and there’s no key for the door👍🏻.
