Would you like a much lighter blue? Or do you want to get away from that color?

Also: how is the light in that room: sufficient, not enough, bright in the morning (I assume?)

I usually use Sherwin Williams emerald in matte. It doesn’t have to be blue at all, it’s more important that everything harmonizes. The rest of the house is white, black and walnut with beige and gray details. Very neutral. So I really want it light and soft and muted, not pastel soft is all.

Room is East facing with VERY little natural light. It’s dark and dreary in there most the time.

Or chamomile...

@ACT ONE. Yes, I like these almost dirty yellows. They make me think of fields of oat.

Ooh I like that too! FWIW my husband vetoed anything yellow. :( white will work. I like that this one has a little bit of body to it.

or, try Pale Oak, or the Aloe color (SW could prob color match these for you)

a rug for under the beds would help tie everything together.

try putting a little table in between the beds. wood would warm it up a bit. you could even do a floating one

bring in some artwork for the walls. color is just 1/2 of the equation. some accessories ties it all in a pretty bow

For the East light, B.M. Violet Pearl ( a gray with the right undertone) would be perfect. It will work well with the tint of the beds. New comforters would be in order, but the result, I believe, will make you happy.

I would be careful with a white - in low light they can just look....dingy. Violet pearl would be beautiful!

@beth thank you for the many suggestions. I’ve always been drawn to moody green/blues so these fit right in. As a matter of fact I was originally going that direction but a color consultant said it would be to dreary and I needed some less greyed color. Well, turns out I don’t like it. Lol. I like the idea of a neutral as well, pale oak is beautiful and would flow very well with the rest of the house! And thanks for the suggestions for the deco- we’re absolutely in the early stages of putting the room together. I love that last floating nightstand btw!!

Yes, that was my worry with white too. The rest of the house is white (aw alabaster)and we used to have SW incredible white in this particular room before we repainted the house but it was just very sad looking so I need something with a little bit of color or body to it I think.

It is an interesting color, Jennifer. I know it is a winner with East light, and will work so well with the color of the beds. The children, boys, girls, little?

You can keep that wall color forever and just change up bedding to work with the ages.

The room is for my boys, 2 and 6yo. They couldn’t care less of course, but I like to get the something nice.

Ha! Yeah that’s what my boy said too- he’s rather I spend the time with him. :)

So interesting that you ask about the drum. We got it a few years ago in grey. Well, once you turn the light on it looks olive green because of the light. It’s from crate and kids (from when they were called land of nod)

Round could move wherever they want it - has wall color, I think. Dark blends with headboard.... are many other such rugs...

I agree with everdebz that some fun accessories is really all you need, repeat the wall color in some pillows, i also think bringing in some red pillows would be fun too. looks like there is a red toy in the corner. I think red would go great as an accent with the wall color. neutral rug and then just a pop of the wall color and red in pillows. maybe add some children's framed artwork for the walls.

We just decided we’ll live with it and work on the deco. They’ll end up ruining the walls in a year or two anyways and we can always switch up the color then.

Again, I TRULY appreciate all the input from everyone and all the inspiration- I finally feel positively about this room that’s been bugging me for so long.
