compressor questions

I have a little compressor in my garage. it's used mostly for tires and to blow out debris from my lawn equipment during their annual cleaning.

the yellow spring hose blew out right in the middle of use. I figured it was time for something better.

I got a 50 flexzIlla and new Milton connectors.

I realized during a hose would be more of a pain to store than with the spring type hose. I bought a hose reel attached flexzIlla.. you can see in the pictures it ...works great for storage.. but I was forced to run what I call lead hose from the compressor to the main hose.

I guess my question is, is it safe the way this is. should I leave the compressor filled with air when not in use or should I let all the air out of it after each use since it's used infrequently. is there anything wrong with having a lead hose like this ?

I just want to make sure I'm safe in the way I'm doing this. I think the pictures will tell the story.
