Stink Bugs?

I used to live in San Jose, had them for 10-15 yrs. then I moved.

Thanks, but these aren't the standard pentatomid stink bugs--I'd love a more specific name! :)

Are these insects chewing the plant or are they piercing?

Are they wingless?

They are winged true bugs. Good fliers. Definitely piercing, definitely bugs. Here's some proboscis views. These bugs are about the size of a standard stink bug--they are on overgrown chard so the bugs look small compared to the giant leaves and stems.

Here is a belly shot (through plastic) and a closeup top view. These are cute bugs, but I still want to know what they are!

Only one species described for the whole Tribe! Must be an oddity.

I had considered the leaf-footed bugs, but did not have time recently to wade through all 294 webpages of those at bugguide.
