IMO, that's too small. The smallest pits are at least 36" across and you should have a minimum of 7' clear space all the way around it. So that would be at least 17' in diameter and larger if you have a larger sized pit.

One of the advantages of a firepit is that it creates a focal point for your landscape, so it's good that you're taking the time to think it through. Consider the desired size of the pit itself and then add space for chairs surrounding it.

14' would be a minimum size for a small fire pit and small seating. It won't be too big but it might be too small.

thanks for your thoughts! so it sounds like 14 feet is probably not too big. now we will need to figure out what products yo use . And the landscaping around it.
