I'm not sure if these would qualify as filled chocolates but my son got me a box of their bonbons for Christmas and they are beautiful and really delicious. And the presentation is really neat, they come in a box that looks like a book.

I too adore Sees (assorted dark chocolates) and would be mightily let down if my faithful gift giver pulled a substitution. But I get your boredom. How about a smaller box of the favorite Sees, and a sampler of something new....for which I am no help. gails look pretty.

I am a big fan of Black Dinah chocolates and they are my 'go to' for a chocolate lover's gift. I think they are beautiful and delicious.

I am not a chocolate eater-- but I have given mariebelle and vosges chocolates as gifts -- both feel *special* and I love the mariebelle shops in NYC.

Most recently, I have given these special chocolates-- special in tradition more than packaging. Whenever my uncle or my father went into the hospital (big or small reasons), they brought boxes of Matango's venetian mints to share with the nurses who treated them. They are local (Harrisburg, PA) but have fast shipping. No fancy wrappers but they are creamy and just the right level of sweetness/minty. You can choose all dark, all milk or a mix.

Love dark chocolate. Other than See’s and Harry and David I have not tried any of the recommendations. I really like Ethel M chocolates, they are available online. My favorites are the raspberry and lemon creme’s.

Homemade habanero truffles. I usually make these with milk chocolate, but no reason why dark wouldn't work. Only difference from a standard truffle recipe is that you steep finely chopped habaneros (2-3 for a recipe using 1 lb chocolate, depending on how hot you want to risk them being) in the cream when you heat it, and--THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT--strain out the habanero bits when you pour the cream over the chocolate. Habanero peppers have a lot of variation in heat. The last couple recipes I've made I used 2 habaneros and they came out very mild. I have definitely made 3-habanero recipes that came out on the noticeably spicy side. Two to three peppers has never gotten me to a level I thought was too hot (though people who don't like spicy food might have thought so).

I'm lazy, so I roll my truffles in cocoa powder or chocolate vermicelli rather than coating them in chocolate.

Oh my gosh, thank you everyone. I like chocolate and not to start a riot, I don't love chocolate. Therefore, I don't know which taste better, it all taste good to me. All those different chocolates look like pieces of art. I think I may have to buy a few different kinds and send them to my 93 year old relative on a staggered schedule. She would love the surprise of getting different chocolates at random times.

If you are still looking for more suggestions, check out French Broad Chocolates. They are delicious! I've ordered several times from them and I've always been happy with our orders. They pack and ship everything with freezer packs to keep it cool. I recently ordered their pack of 20 chocolate bars from their Comfort Collection. They have a couple different options of flavors on the chocolate bars. I picked the one with 4 or 5 different dark chocolate bars. Yum!

DH and DD's birthday gift to me was a box of Kron Chocolatier Budapest creme truffles. OMGosh, they were yummy! Soft, creamy, ganache-like rectangles dusted with cocoa powder. They ordered them online. Made me feel very special. Pricey but you might want to check them out. Good luck.

I ordered from See's and it will be delivered Friday. I used to love watching Jacques Torres cooking show. I never tried to make anything, but would drool over the treats.

Before I read the title of your topic I said to myself, "See's." You cannot go wrong with See's. Especially milk chocolate with buttercream filling. :)
