Amazing how just a few hours west of me, same zone and state, and you are so much ahead of me. Your weather seems to be a bit dryer and warmer, which makes a difference. I may have a couple blooming within the next week. I will also be away this weekend and part of next week, so I will probably miss my first ones.

My favorites are Malaysian Marketplace, Pink Enchilada, Finish with a Flourish , and the Fern Stone Seedling.

Thanks for sharing your garden shots, it’s fun to see those too. Billy the Kid really caught my eye today, I like the pattern on the midrib. It’s great to see some of your seedling, I really like the white one.

Our Billy the Kids are blooming at the same time. Isn't it funny that it's registered as a midseason bloomer, but it always blooms early for us? Your season seems early this year. You're usually about a week behind me in blooms starting. Incendiary and Malaysian Marketplace are my favorites. Both have such lovely colors!

Wow Nancy! They are really starting to bloom aren’t they? Billy the Kid is really staring out with much more pattern than mine shows. So glad Butterfly Moon survived its trauma enough to bloom. Nice ones to start!

Brad, it is surprising, isn't it? I am usually thinking how amazing it is that Debra's are as much as a week earlier than me, yet just an hour's drive from me. I always hate to be away from home when the daylilies bloom! I had not realized how very much Finish with a Flourish looks like Malasian Marketplace til it bloomed. I will have to move it, they are close together and it really looks like a washed out version of MM. I know somewhere else I will like it much better.

Actually, Debra, according to my haphazard records, most are running just a little on the late side. I just keep records of earliest and latest blooms. Not sure why it would be later, but we have had lots of drab days with no sun. The last few days have been cooler, nights down into 40s a couple of times, but the daylilies started to bloom, I suppose because of the sun. Yes, Billy the Kid always blooms early for me. I have some that are supposed to be early, Early Shirley, Memory of Morning that may bloom later this week. I am sure they must be accurate for the hybridizer's zone, but several daylilies bloom the wrong time, are much taller or shorter than they are supposed to be. That is why I am constantly moving stuff!

Thanks Sherry! I always like Billy the Kid, and it does well for me. Unlike some of Maryott's daylilies.

Finish with a Flourish is very pretty and I always love Malaysian Marketplace, but I think butterfly Moon s my favorite.

I really like the garden shots. What are the tall white flowers next to your yarrows? I like the coreopsis. I had it reseed several years in a row, but I don't see any this year. Just more self-seeded coneflowers, spiderwort and Gloriosa daisies. I need to plant some for next year. You have so many neat plants, I'd love to see more photos of your other perennials.

How nice you can have your garden companions do the morning walk with you. Living away from the busy streets has its own rewards.......I had just seen Debra's Billy the Kid and now yours. I really like the pattern and it seems to be consistent for you both. So many patterns aren't as you know......Finish with a Flourish is a pretty pink. I like that one too................Maryl

These are so pretty Nancy. Would not be able to choose one favorite. Garden pics are always enjoyable especially with the garden buddies.

Thank you so much everyone, for your comments. Kay, I always love Butterfly Moon, but looks like all the scapes are really short this year, and weaker, floppy. Guess if you have a car spinning its tires on it, I am lucky to have it at all. Debra, the white flowers are penstemon, Rocky Mountain Penstemon is the name that comes to my mind. If you would like some, let me know, it is starting to spread a little far.There is also a bit of white flowering baptisia, but it is just finishing up. And I can save you some coreopsis plants if you like. Maryl, Billy the Kid is really a good plant, I quite like it. Had to move it from the deck area in early spring, that might possibly be why it bloomed a little earlier this year, although I would have expected it to be later. When I first got it, NGA site listed it as having less than 10 buds, I was disappointed at seeing such a low bud count. I rarely get what is listed, but it does better than that. I will try to post more later as my other perennials start blooming. I do have spiderwort blooming now, and rudbeckias will be blooming, so not much unusual. I have a lot of lilies, you can see scattered some, but the frost April 15 affected bloom on some of those

Nancy - If only I had more sun space, I would love to have some of that Rocky Mountain Penstemon. It is beautiful. I don't even have space for the new daylilies I have in pots and seedlings sitting in cups. I'll just have to enjoy looking at your photos. I'm trying to come to grips with the fact I have more daylily beds than I can maintain and will have to continue dramatic downsizing efforts this year.
