The perfect tile is only an ocean away...

I'm *still* planning our kitchen reno and go 'round and 'round with the finishes, but then I happened to see Nadiya Hussain's tile on her new show "Nadiya's Time to Eat" on Netflix. You guys, this tile is very nearly perfect. It's colorful without coming across as juvenile. And guess what? I found it. And it's reasonably priced...if you live in the UK. Has anyone sourced tile from abroad successfully? Or can maybe point me to something similar? Here's the tile in question.

As a note, I've looked at the big box stores, TileBar, the Tile Shop and even more custom places like Mercury Mosaics and Fireclay Tile.

Yeah, falling in love with a tile can be like falling in love, period. You rarely end up with your first crush. Thank God. Here’s the image for those who don’t want to go link hopping. I have to tell you the Ys remind me of antigen/antibody interactions.

But that’s me! If this is what you want, wait for it. If you want something prettier (in my opinion) and have a healthy budget for tile, check out Fireclay Tile‘s handpainted tile.

It is fun but IMO one of those things that would make you say "what was I thinking" in about a year. I guess if you love it order it it will be expensive but even if you found it here it would be just probably the same price . I can't imagine it is cheap in the UK either .

I had the exact same reaction Veronica! I actually paused the show and immediately did the research, and found the same source as you. After thinking on it for a while though, I reached Patricia's conclusion :) But it did look so cool in her kitchen!

Some people don't have a tolerance for pattern and/or color, but that shouldn't stop you from using it if you know you love it.

It looks similar to the Moroccan mosaics I have seen at a local mid/high end tile store.

I feel you on this. One of the last things that we need to finish our kitchen is backsplash, and the one that we love is in England. We were just about to order it when the pandemic hit, so we put the brakes on it for a bit.

I love the colors in your tile. I wish that I could remember the name of the custom tile that we saw at a local high end shop. It could be made in whichever colors you wanted.

It looks like a Moroccan mosaic, but is a 5" x 5" ceramic tile.

I've seen similar, but need to go look through some of my bookmarks. Not quite the same, but worth looking at these.

Call some of your local high-end tile stores. I fell in love with a tile that is made in Italy, and turns out that a local tile store can get it in easily, as well as Plumbtile.
