Ground cover?

What ground cover are you using between the pavers? What's the planting medium? How much weeding is necessary to prevent weeds from outcompeting the preferred ground cover?

Hello Diane! Thank you for your interest in one of our projects.

I spoke with members of our Site Design Studio and they gave me the following information:

"The groundcover is creeping thyme (Thymus spp.) spaced about 1ft on center to encourage complete coverage between open joints, and reduce weeds.

Planting medium is about 4”-8” depth of top soil. Don’t forget to irrigate until the plants are established.

Weeding will be necessary bi-weekly (or as needed) until the thyme can fill in completely. Finding good soil without weed seeds (look at Cedar Grove) is the first step to ensuring a reduction in weeds, the second would be doing tight spacing on the groundcover to reduce the amount of bare soil. Some level of weeding will always be necessary to maintain an even cover of groundcover plants."

    I hope this information helps!
