Help! Problem with bean leaves

Hello! I've been doing so much research to find out what's going on with my bean leaves and cannot figure it out. See image - the bottom, largest leaves are pale, curled, and have these odd spots that are now brittle and dry. The top leaves/newest growth are a normal green color with no spots. The middle leaves are somewhere in between the two in terms of health and color. All the beans have this in varying degrees of severity. The bean plants seem to be still growing and the new growth looks fine (for now), but hasn't flowered. All other plants in the bed are healthy and not having issues. I live in Atlanta, GA, USA, where we have had a lot of rain, hot days (85 deg F.), and high humidity. These plants are about a month old and this has progressed over time. I have tried a few things (adding a little fertilizer, neem oil) but have tried to be conservative with any treatments until I know what it is. I should add that I haven't had many issues with pests, and that these grow in raised beds of a mixture of raised bed soil w/ compost mixed in. Our garden is brand new and this is the first set of plants in the beds, so nothing would have been able to overwinter in the soil.

The first “leaves” to appear when a seed sprouts are the cotyledons, not a set true leaves. These will dry up and fall off as the plant matures.

Do you have bush beans or pole beans? It looks like you have bush beans and being in GA in the summer you should have bush beans because polebeans I am sure you know are cold weather crop. So for bush beans I too have had this happen also to various degrees on different plants - I live in Az and its been well over 100 degrees so I just thought mine were getting scorched. I have just been plucking them off like I would a house plant so energy is not going to repairing or saving the leaves. I am now getting lots of bushy growth and lots of flowers in the bushy growth. As long as its growing and new growth looks good aanand green try some p of the yellow leaves and see how that works.

Pole Beans are NOT a cold weather crop in GA. I grow Rattlesnake Pole Beans every year and plant them after the last frost and they grow and produce until first frost in the fall. Last year I harvested 75 lbs of Rattlesnake Beans. This year it has been wetter and cooler than normal. I usually plant my pole beans about 4/15. But this year due to the rainy and colder than normal spring, I did not plant them until 5/2. They are doing wonderful. They have reached the top of the 8 foot trellis and are flowering and producing baby beans.

I can not help you with your problem, but it is not because they are pole beans. I don't know what variety they are but they do not like cold weather. Maybe all the rain and the cool weather we have had in Atlanta has created a problem.
