Outswing French door —door stop?

I have a pair of Marvin French aluminum clad doors leading to the patio. (Down a few steps) Left door is primary and has about a 12” return before hitting the bedroom wing of the house. i want a door stop. Any suggestions? I was thinking the Emtek magnetic one, so it will keep the door from hitting the house and help keep it open. thoughts? There are also door closers.

I called Marvin. They don’t sell anything. She thought the two-part magnetic one would be fine but kept saying to be careful to stay far enough away from the glass (at least 1” from visible glass). to me, it now seems like a bad idea to drill into the cladding. She said as long as it‘s sealed properly it should be ok.

other ideas: I could mount something on the house (fiber cement siding) or on the landing part of steps. (How I am leaning, though it’s a weird trip hazard)

Thoughts? Advice? What would you do?

A floor mount door stop on the landing seems easiest.

Thanks again! I realized that the back landing has a step down, so I was able to order a tall floor stop. Thanks for steering me in the right direction!

I installed a cheap magnetic door stop from one of the big-box stores for the out-swing french door going to my deck. The siding is Hardie fiber-cement and the door is Andersen 400 series. It has been fine. BUT - my door is close to an inside corner and protected by a small pent roof so it doesn't see much wind. If yours is more exposed I might look for something with a hook that would hold it open in high winds.

@HALLETT & Co. Thanks again! I got the 8” tall deltana floor mounted stop and my GC mounted it on the deck. Since it’s a floor mount he was able to mount it with the bumper face slightly angled so it mirrors the door (that’s at approx 110 degree angle at that point). Thank you for your help!
