shower layout help!!

hi, we are installing a shower from scratch and have some limitations on the layout. wondering what people think about the dimensions, 38 inches wide and 65 inches long, but with the showerhead on the long wall. we are trying to keep plumbing out of exterior walls (darkened in pictures) and the flow of the room works out so much better if the curtain/door is on the short side instead of the long side. thoughts? is 38 inches too short front to back?

Yes these dimensions will work for a shower. I am not to sure where you live, however you will definitely NOT want to install any plumbing on the outside wall. For the future you always want to be able to have access from behind for repairs. Depending on where you live as well installing on a outside wall is against plumbing codes due to freezing of lines etc.

I would suggest for that size of shower to have a hand shower on a slide bar or on a hook. From there you may want to take a look at adding a rain head off the wall. Just picture yourself facing the left wall (noon outside wall) to do your daily showering.
