The colorful rug looks better to me. Make sure you get a rug large enough for the room. It should come within two feet of the walls and be underneath the sofa. Any change of moving that shelf from in front of the window? If you moved away the corner shelf would it fit there? I'd add a coffee table or a large ottoman with a tray on top. And put a floor lamp in the corner between the sofa and the smaller window, maybe an arc style.

Thank you Banos for your response.. I can move the console table from in front of the window and move the other ladder shelf to third corner.. I like the idea of arc floor lamp..

I think West Elm and a few other home decor sites have the feature, too.

I like the more neutral rug since you already have the orange wall and orange accessories. It also gives you the option to change your accent color very easily later on.
