reason for Wolf riser?

Congratulations on a beautiful kitchen. Would you share why you added a Wolf riser? We are considering a quartz backsplash along with quartz countertops and are wondering if we should add the riser to protect the quartz and walls from heat.

Hello,

Glad you like the kitchen! Yes, I would use a material that protects the wall from flame and heat since this is a pro range. Consider tile or stainless.

Thank you for your response. If you don't mind following up, with a pro range, can one use tile alone, without the stainless steel Wolf riser, or would you recommend the riser + tile? Is a riser with a painted wall sufficient protection?
