Please help with bedroom final touches

last modified: 6 years ago

I am starting this new thread because my original one was having technical issues that could not be resolved . My bedroom is almost at the finish line with just a few more things I need your help on. 😊

  1. Possibly a white throw at the end of the
    bed???
  2. Right side of the dresser picture frame and
    flower votive???? Thoughts ?
  3. Table next to chair picture frame and
    flower? Thoughts ?
  4. Thoughts on anything else ??
    Thanks!

I like the first one better.

I agree with Molly. That color appears to be more cohesive with your upholstered furniture.

    #1..more modern…brighter

    #2… more traditional…darker…

and for some reason..I always like a pale aqua on the ceiling to add a little extra life to a room

Sounds like #1 is the winner. Would that be considered a white wash technique? Do you think the pattern and color is achievable on my existing brick? The mock up is more of a off white color. Any suggestions on colors? Thanks!

Hi Mary! so happy about you painting the fireplace🤗

Yes that would be a white wash I don't know if they call it a lime wash? And off-white would be a good choice or an antique white

.Does anyone remember what color Parker used on her fireplace and what sheen? I’m pretty sure it was a SW color.

Hi Julie ! 😊. Do you think SW Alabaster would be a good color choice for my fireplace??

Hi Mary! Kjoy1 used Shoji white, that’s if I’m remembering correctly.

Looks like they did a German smear technique on the fireplace. I’m sure someone else will come on here and see what they think? I googled the image and that’s what information I got.

I was thinking it looked like a lime wash.

Hey! Mary! Looks like a wash to me because it’s rather uniform. A smear would be less uniform. I like it for your fireplace. An off white wash so it’s not too stark.

    Good morning!

Yes Alice... KJoy did paint her fireplace but since its tile I think it would look different than mine.

I was asking about what color Parker used when she did hers.

I agree Flo I need a color not too stark since the room is more warm thats why i was considering Alabaster??

Ok Parker. We’ll need to check on that girl. See if I can find her thread and look back?

Romobio https://share.google/EBfbVsmGKg5arXbVo. You can control look by amount applied. Alabaster might be too white. Probably have to try a couple spots to see what it does on your brick. Bionco Whute might be that softer white.

Hi everyone! Let me start by saying I am so happy with my fireplace results!! The lady I hired was awesome has a lot of experience which made me comfortable in doing it. This was just a small job for her and she was able to squeeze me into her schedule which I so appreciated. I did not go with the limewash after consulting with her and decided to use a glaze product that she suggested. The color is SW Natural Choice which was a nice warm off white with my room. The picture depicts more gray but IRL its not. Here is a before and after. I am thinking I will have to replace the mirror I think I need another color now. I would love all your thoughts !

Wow Mary that looks great. I was not in on the original discussion but am so please to see the results. Are you wanting to keep a mirror there as opposed to art? Is so I think what you have works just fine. It still shows up against the brick and is a nice size and shape.

HI Cubby :) Thank you! I already have a large piece of art over the sofa and I'm finally getting to my family gallery wall on the other side. I think I like a mirror on the mantel for something different since the room is on the small side. The one there now is 32" which seems to be the perfect size for that spot. I wouldn't mind replacing it if I find something better.

Mary!! That turned out great! Makes everything so much lighter and brighter and just “fresher”!! I think we can play with the styling on mantel if you want but what you have is lovely. I might try placing vase and tall branches on left with mirror more to center and print overlapping mirror on right. There is a symmetric issue given the placement of your fire box and the wood cubby. Try that. Then a mirror with a black frame same size might add a nice new touch. Just throwing that idea out there. Bet you are thrilled!!

I would like to restyle the mantel. I definitely want another round mirror of some sort to break up the squareness and whatever else??? Any thoughts?? Thanks!

Hi Mary. Here are a few AI suggestions.

I had also glanced at a few mirrors online for you Mary earlier today. My thoughts were the first one that Molly posted. That one would get my vote. The fireplace looks very nice and job well done. That made such a great wall feature change for your space.

Thank you Molly! I kinda like the second one. Alice I'm not sure about the gold color and shape I really don't have anything else in there gold except a small drink table. It's a family room and I wonder if the gold different shaped one looks more formal.

  • yesterday

Nice renderings! I like the third one -- maybe the darker vase seems less "in your face" to me than the white one on the mantle. I also like the arrangement in the round table basket better in the third one. A great-looking room!

  • yesterday

A few more. AI seems pretty set on the other decor as it keeps repeating the pieces! 🤣

  • yesterday

Ooooohhhhh Molly the third one is nice…gives me an organic feel and of course love the green vase! 😊

I like that AI shows mirror basically centered on mantel. Then placing vase with branches far left side. This is formula I suggested earlier. Molly, can you share which AI app you are using?

  • yesterday

Hi Flo. I use ChatGPT, the free version. I try to remember to ask for sources too.

  • yesterday

    Winner here…🥰

Flo and AI are on the same page with the mirror centered! I like it something different!
