Hmmm.....no one interested? Let me add a little. Like I said these are bitter-free cucumbers. I can't grow any other kind or they are dead from wilt almost immediately. This year, something is eating them and the leaves are drying up. Every time I go out there, I find a cucumber beetle on the back of the dying leaf. But there is still no sign of wilt on the other leaves.....just holes. Is it possible that these older seeds (and some new seeds) just aren't quite repelling the cucumber beetles, so they are chewing on the leaves and killing them, without the wilt being absorbed and transmitted to the rest of the stem?? Would a good idea be to just use some soap spray on the leaves? Would that deter the cucumber beetles? Thanks.

County Fair is disease resistant, not pest resistant. While the plants can usually shake off bacterial wilt that doesn't mean that the cucumber beetles won't damage the plant(s) when feeding. Since you are finding cucumber beetles feeding on the plants I would go on the offensive.

Insecticidal soap is a contanct insecticide. It must be sprayed on the pest directly for it to work. Some people claim it has repelling effects if stuff like garlic and/or cayenne is added but that hasn't been my experience.
