Fisher Paykel GWL11 washer problems

I have F&P GWL11 and at the start of the cycles I got a horrible noise. Then the 6.3 amp fuse blew. I replaced the drain pump, broke the locking clip in the process another mishap. The new pump smoked too, I had jumped the fuse out, my bad. Then I got my replacement fuses, fixed the board but now can't get the either pump to seal, water leaks straight through. Any help would be appreciated ?

6.3a fuse ... I assume that refers to the motor board fuse? As you may know, that fuse is not intended to be field-replaceable. I've run across a few people who have done that but there's often some other component on the board that was damaged and other malfunctions occur as a result, or the fuse to blow repeatedly

The (retrofit) fuse on the pump circuit is 2.5a, it protects a damaged pump from blowing the board. What caused the first new pump to "smoke?" The seal is integral to the pump. Is it the source of the leaking? Lubricate the seal face with a bit of liquid detergent to facilitate rotating the pump into position.
