Paint color????

Any thoughts on what color should replace the blue in the kitchen? (Any other ideas for the kitchen, we just got the counters) Also, the areas in these pictures are all part of one larger space. Paint it all the same color or different colors for each area????

I would unify the paint color throughout. The dilemma is that right now all the woodwork and flooring are warm while the blue kitchen and the living area, and your rug, sofa and 1.5 chairs are cool (at least on my monitor.)

Thank you! Any thoughts on what color might work given the different cool/warm tones in the house. A neutralizing color of some sort?

Benjamin Moore Ballet White. Try some samples. I like BM’s Natura line.

A soft white would work. Check some of Ben Moore's. Simply White is nice, but your lighting will make a big difference. We've also used Swiss Coffee in the past and it worked great with the lighting...just a soft, neutral white.

    Swiss Coffee...

I would use a neutral white in the kitchen and dining area where you have the gray chairs. Then use a coordinating color, like the green suggested above, for the living area with the vaulted ceilings.

Haha! No we can't bring ourselves to put knobs/pulls on the wood cabinets, although I'm guessing it would look a lot better! Maybe black ones? I really dont know. Thanks for the paint color suggestions everyone, I feel there is a consensus around a soft white for the kitchen fireplace room and then a new color for the living room with that green as a suggestion. This is such valuable information.

Your entire space is gray and wood. What colors make your heart sing?

My philosophy is that every room in your home should bring you joy and everything in your home should bring you joy.

Did you paint to blue because you love vibrant blues? If so you may want to do lighter, softer blues on the walls and bring in the more vibrant colors in pillows, area carpet, art and decor.

Nature is filled with wood tones and grays and most any color can be used to spice things up a bit.

You can change wall color wherever there is an architectural break between spaces.

I love the way this home incorporates the same colors from room to room. Some walls are color and some are white, but everything flows.

Knobs and pulls help protect the wood finish on the cabinets.

Suggestion. We always paint our heating vents (like yours) the same color as walls.
