I need help with young female Violette de Bordeaux fig trees!

I recently purchased four young (2" high) fig trees last thursday and they were doing great for a couple of days. I was watering them daily but read more on fig trees and this week started to water every two days. The leaves on two of the figs started to dry up, so I cut the excess leaves on all the plants. Two were not doing so well and two were doing great. I was taking them out in high temps and humidity and each time all the trees started to wilt, so they have been getting sunlight through a window. Today I left them out in direct sunlight for about four hours and now they are wilted, again. I have two questions. How often do I water the young figs? And, do they really need direct sunlight?

I would appreciate any advice you have. I can grow beautiful flowers, but have never grown a plant.

Because they are so tiny, I would put them in a shaded location until they grow a bit stronger. And larger. But outside. Ficus carica is not really a houseplant and only needs to be indoors (temporarily) if grown in a climate where it is not fully winter-hardy. But once they get some size on them, they are a full sun plant. Or in my location, a full sun tree :-)

Water only enough to keep the soil evenly moist....not wet

Figs don't come in male and female. Also these obviously being seedlings means that they won't be clones of 'Violette de Bordeaux', may have different characteristics.

Those look like tissue culture plants such as from Wellspring some have success while others do not But either way shade is your best friend at this time .After wards slowly acclimate them to part shade part sun eventually to full sun.

Seedlings or tissue cultures, those are very small fragile plants. As has been mentioned, keep them out of direct sunlight. Be very careful with watering them, don't soak them and don't let them dry out. Lastly, I'd give them a small dose of a very mild fertilizer at a concentration intended for seedlings.

Hopefully they were grown from meristems, which would certainly explain why they look just like seedlings.

I’m interested in the history of these plants. Did the seller describe them as ‘female’? If so the seller is highly suspect and that means they’re more likely to be seedlings than tissue culture. We’re they expensive?
