How much room do you have and any chance of a pic or two of the area?

Thanks for replying! Here's a picture.

I'd like to plant along the fence. Maybe in a curved garden bed to add some structure and soften that corner.

Behind the fence our neighbor has a conifer and a row of scraggly Leyland Cypress which he recently topped. Our large tree on the right will be gone next year.

Maybe Holly-Japanese 'Sky Pencil' (or does it not grow tall enough?) or an Emerald Green? Maybe a little Gem Magnolia tree in there too?? I'd like to do some different textures--not just have a row of the same plant the whole way through.

I plan to move an American Larch (only 2 ft right now) somewhere over there too. I'm not sure how to design this area. I'd like to make it interesting and also create more privacy too.

Deer resistance would be nice too but I know we can't have everything we want.

Look at deciduous magnolias. Some varieties are fastigiate. I have one--sorry can't remember the name--that is very narrow--15 years old and blooms yellow.
