Can you post a fllor plan to scale it looks to me like you have a big empty space away from the door

This area should project a very strong statement when you walk into the home.

IMO the light aqua is a mistake. It's too washed out, as is the undersized chrome chandelier that fades to nothing.. Take your cue from the darker teal in the rug for your inspiration.

The drapery panels in the other room IMO would look better if they were mounted higher and if the background color of the fabric was teal.

I agree it feels odd to enter directly into your dining area...perhaps create a foyer with a screen with a narrow console table or a bench at the entry..in general your other rooms would benefit from not crowding the walls with furniture and centering the other dining table better

I think eliminating the separate dining area is a good option too...and that the space could be used better...but is difficult to tell without a floor plan..how it relates to the other rooms...

I would try the buffet on the wall by the door to add more of a foyer feeling. Or I would turn the table and put the buffet under the art. Both art and chandelier should be much larger.

May I say the concept of the DR in the foyer is a really great idea, as so many households only use the DR for holidays. Having the table there offers the opportunity to set up a bar or buffet for casual get-togethers and could be quite welcoming. I believe you will see more of this from progressive builders.

Thanks everyone. I will try flipping the table and setting the buffet closer to the entry door. I will also try the darker turquoise Curtains. I’m also considering a bigger light fixture.
