You connected a dryer cord to the 240v outlet when the other end of the cord wasn't attached/installed to the dryer? OMG, trying to kill yourself much?

Get a new cord. The melted part can't be considered reliable, could overheat on current draw during operation. And call your local EMS to be on standby. Or hire someone and stand well-away while they finish the job. :-)

Always watch a Youtube video when not sure how to do ANYTHING.

The first thing you do is turn off power (from the electrical panel) or FULLY unplug any electrical appliance that you're going to work on.

That wire is damaged...period.

It may work but it's NOT SAFE. It can over heat and cause a devastating fire.

I new cord isn't that expensive.

And be VERY careful when installing it.

I'd use it. I don't see anything that would keep it from functioning correctly.
