My painter will spray paint my new kitchen cabinets. I am debating on which sheen I am going to use, satin or semi gloss. Our kitchen is medium to small size. It is not an open floor plan. We have a decent size of window in the kitchen, but we do not get a lot of natural lights coming in.

I got both paint samples from the paint store. Semi gloss does not seem to be too shiny in my house. I can barely notice any shine on it. Just from certain angles. But I am not sure what is going to look like when it is actually painted on the cabinet. Will satin finish look more chic and more upscale?

I asked the SW and BM. SW told me semi gloss finish is the most popular one for kitchen cabinet. But BM told me satin is way popular than semi gloss now.

We will do white paint, probably SW high hide white because my painter prefers SW paint. Otherwise I would like to get a brighter and lighter white than high hide white from BM.
