I am not an expert but Joseph Corlett is. He has posted before about cutting the granite to enlarge the opening. And, then, using an undermount stainless sink. The stainless sink can be brought to a metal fabricator to increase the deck size if needed. Do a thread With a shout out to Joe.

Joseph Corlett also has posted about changing out sinks like what you have for an apron front sink. Not just very practical, but a looker. I think an apron front installation may help with the counter cut out issues, but I’m not sure. Here are a couple of his “after” photos:

Replace the tops. Is it the angle of the photo? appears you have no overhang at the sink. Stand back and add pictures of the entire kitchen, and the entire wall

@JAN MOYER -additional pictures as requested. There are currently 2 seams already, one to the right of the coffee maker and one under the knife block. We haven't considered replacing all the granite due to the cost. Don't mind the empty hole where our stove belongs.

I just have to comment that I never tire of seeing pics of Joseph Corlett’s sink transformations. Joseph, maybe you should somehow franchise this business? Teach others around the country to do it. Though it would prob be a PITA. I just wish you were closer than 1200 miles away in Florida.

@Joseph Corlett, LLC. Apologies for not commenting sooner. Appreciate your suggestions as you clearly have the experience. When you say not cheap, how expensive is it to do what you're suggesting? Also, do we go to a stone/granite place to get them to do all of that work? My husband isn't dumb enough to try and mess with granite and risk breaking it.

If you're in the lower half of Florida, we'll change your sink for $1,900.00, sink and plumbing included without changing the cutout. If we change the cutout and drop in a topmount, you're in the $2,800.00 range. If we change the cutout and undermount a sink, $3,800.00, and if you do a custom apron front sink, you can push $4,900.00, sink and plumbing included.

If Florida, a granite guy can't disconnect or reconnect a sink without a license, however, countertop work is specifically exempted from Florida licensing law. Most granite guys don't want to fool with sinks; they don't think they can charge enough. A plumber isn't going near a stone saw or polisher. I am licensed for all the work we do.
