How Can I Filter PVC Spigot Exiting a Plastic Drum?

I am building a PVC spigot that will attach to the side of a plastic drum that I am going to use to ferment alfalfa tea fertilizer. Reference just the white PVC spigot in the photo below, using 1.5" PVC pipe. Ignore the water bottle at the top of the photo. I will be using a 20-gallon garbage can or a rain barrel. Focus on the white PVC pipe. Is there any off-the-shelf part I can buy that would act as a drain filter on the inside of the container? I would prefer to not have large chunks of alfalfa meal getting stuck in the PVC pipe or coming out into the water canister.
