Yes, virtually any once-flowering plant (not just rose) can "re bloom" if the weather conditions are right. Huey flowered off and on spring through fall (our "heat" arrives now through October) here on the Central Coast. Anywhere "spring like" conditions hang around for a long time, Huey and most other once flowering types will often either just keep blooming or will flower, hesitate then flower more. He, like most others, doesn't really require "care" as long as he receives the minimum resources he requires.

Oh, don't worry. Huey is IMMORTAL. No matter how deep you've dug, there will be cells of his roots left in the hole and he WILL be back!

Yes, that is true. We had some modern roses on Dr. Huey when we moved in here, and finally dug up most of them because in our climate Dr. Huey suckers never stopped coming up - a pain to keep trying to get rid of them. So, we shovel pruned the entire rose bushes. Ha! the scions were gone, but Dr. Huey sprouts kept coming up (and being very carefully dug up) for years and years. Knock on wood, I have not seen any for about 5 years - talk about a THUG! (Unfortunately in our climate it is a rust bucket, so although I usually welcome root stock roses, I could not welcome those..
