I’m new to this and looked for ways to get some answers but don’t know who to go to. I have a monarch that I got for my daughter we were trying to move the milkweed out from its mesh cage and it tumbled and fell.. we tried getting him to attach its self to a leaf and get him back In and that’s when we noticed a orange like birthmark spot on his backside towards the rear. He’s not moving much maybe playing dead but he is twitching his antenas a little but I’m wondering if this is just a discoloration on his skin maybe a parasite or a injury. As of right now he’s just laying on its side on top of a leaf almost like sleeping. I don’t remember seen that discoloration before he fell. What can it be?
