It looks like you have a 5'7' rug currently. Swap it out for a 9'x12'. Then, put at least the front legs of the sofa on it and all four legs of the ottoman. Add a couple of chairs, end table, and table lamp in the bay window, another end table and table lamp on the opposite end of the couch, and a console table or chest behind the couch.

Thank you both for your ideas and thoughts. Yes - definitely need a bigger rug and a couple of chairs. The width of the room parallel to the couch position above is only 160” - so while I can get a couch in there and maybe a console behind it, I can’t get side tables :(. The sofa has seen better days and I’m contemplating something lower profile — so I can see more of the renovated wall we just did from the kitchen (fireplace wall and windows). Which got me thinking of a possible alternate layout— see below. Which do you prefer? Note the office room isn’t exactly centered with the bay window (the living room is bigger)... is that a deal breaker?
