I have no idea why this beam structure so maybe some pics from much further back will explain it

Is your challenge keeping it warm?..or cool?..is there insulation in place?..are you wanting to preserve the view of the beams?

Is this a living or work space?

workspace. Not a sleeping room but working in there several hours a day. i don’t care About keeping the beams exposed or anything I’m just not creative to figure out how to come up with a budget friendly and simple solution. I’m not looking for a bullet proof method but SOMETHING to help. The walls and garage door have insulation.

It’s hard to keep it cool. There’s a decent window AC unit through wall but with such high ceilings it’s kinda a losing battle

Contemplating just putting some polyiso panels cut to form on top of the beams and then covering the exposed side with polyester for a nicer look. Is this just crazy talk Or possibly helpful?

Ok this is what i thought...What will work is ceiling vent fan(s) ...they sit on the roof..suck out all the hot air and are really cheap to run..(electric)..if you have an extremely hot climate you can even leave them on at night ..as it will pull in more cooler air from outside at night....this is a fair expense in the beginning but is really the only affordable option....we got ours from a heating and cooling company ...and they installed the units...20 years ago and they are still performing perfectly...at that time it cost about $1500 ...but this is a service industry and many of their equipment prices are close to same even now...

This building does not appear to be air tight?...so any insulation will probably only keep the heat in better ...

In our home in Aspen we had a water cooler instead of AC...and that worked great and was low cost to run..but Colorado is so dry the humidity was very welcome...sounds like humidity is already a problem..the advantage was it blew in ..cool air..rather than suck out warm

So that may be another cheap option to look into
