eggplant attracting ants

Hi, I am growing eggplants or brinjals. There are ants all over the underside of the leaves. There are also a lot of yellow specks (around the size of a grain of salt or sugar) on the underside of the leaves, scattered all over, but sparsely. I suspect the ants are attracted to that.

It seems that aphids produce "honeydew" drops that are sweet. But I am not sure whether those yellow specks are aphids or such drops. They don't look like insects to my naked eye, and neither are they liquid. Just a single yellow speck or grain, lots of them sparsely distributed all over the underside of the leaves, and they don't seem to move at all.
