I removed a vanity and want to install a new one with a backsplash, but the wall was curved there. The previous installer had hand chiseled down the seam to make it more level but it was still curved. I discovered there was SO MUCH GLUE at the seam of the beadboard it was making it curved. I've cut out the bad part and plan to scrape the glue more, but it's still not level enough to apply large tile to the wall. What is the best way to patch this? Try to re-nail or screw the beadboard into the drywall (below where the backsplash will be) and fit it with another piece...or replace the 2 panels completely? Or something else?
