Marble Art Ceramic Tile

Hi, I am looking for opinions, reviews and non-stock real life images of Marble Art Ceramic Tile from Floor & Decor https://www.flooranddecor.com/stone-look-tile/marble-art-polished-ceramic-tile-100387703.html

  • Perhaps it is new, but it doesn't seem to have reviews yet and a google search is coming up empty. It is between this larger tile and a smaller more cloudy gray one, but my husband is hoping to have larger tile and therefore less grout. We don't want the hassle of real marble so are looking for marble look only, but want opinions on if these faux marble tiles look convincing or would turn you off from a home? The worst marble look showers I have seen are the ones where the tiles are all identical and therefore all look the same and highlight they are fake so we ensured these have lots of variation. Also what are your thoughts on matte vs shiny tile? Sometimes shiny seems 'tacky' at times but then matte can also seem fake to me, i dont know why, perhaps its because most natural stone I have had in a home were used as shiny countertops.
  • Any recommendations for size of tile, grout color (so far Floor & Decor 'Frost' is our pick), and floor accent tile and niche tile (we are trying to find a marble look herringbone) would be appreciated (I have a hard time visualizing the space). We plan to just use the same tile in both walk in showers in the home, unless things like size of tile may look better in the larger vs smaller shower. In that case we thought about doing a different marble look tile in the small shower - would two different marble looks/styles in the bathrooms be weird in home?

Here is a pic of the model homes shower (we will get rid of the shelf on the right and have a niche instead. our cabinets are espresso & we have gray concrete floors) and our current showers that have 18x18 gray tile. Would 12x24 be too big? Even staggered it is hard to image in our spaces, especially the smaller stall shower. Is there a common 'rule' for tile size, Ex can too large a tile will overwhelm a small space? Marble Art is 6x18.

We looked at a different 12x24 marble look sample but the viening was so light and the white was bright it didn't look right to us with our SW Extra White walls, it came off as too clinical. Plus I think we both prefer the polished/shiny finish vs matte. Floor & Decor only had a marble look hex but it gave us an idea of the combo we would have once we find a marble look herringbone.

These two pictures are from 2 local store displays, we will be doing a traditional brick stack:

Here are the stock photos from the website that seem quite a bit darker:

And these two are two different bathroom layouts in Floor & Decors Visualizer....it doesn't appear it has consistent sizing or color so that makes me hesitant. In person I think it looks more like the 2nd picture with the tub on the right.

And finally here is our second pick, a smaller traditional sized marble look subway tile, but its matte vs shiny. The third option is just go plain white subway tile like in the model, but again that is a loooot of white.

Thanks
