Haha that is so funny !! Well , I almost always use my clothing budget for roses . And it shows ! Sometimes I’m so envious of the well dressed moms at drop off but then I think about my roses and they make me way happier than new shirts. Any money given to me at Christmas goes directly to David Austin . Maybe someday I’ll have enough roses and be ready to update my poor shirts 😂. I would definitely give up peanut butter for a rose I love too

Lilyfinch, I wish I had some type of budget that I could reallocate to roses:) I can relate to not spending money on clothes, other than a couple of tshirts that I wear during the weekend, my clothes are provided by my work. (Excluding socks that I inherited from my dad 5 years ago)

Because we spent a month of day to day living in a hotel, all money beyond food and mortgage related expenses are going to pay the credit card bills.

Maybe some time in the future.

Writing emails to completely unknown people with tiny hobby eshops in a different country. Removing healthy established plants from the garden to make space for roses. Redesigning the garden every year for the same reason. Buying a pot for £40 for a £10 rose because it's an awkward space and only pot I can find that fits well costs that much. Removing grass from one part of the garden and adding a bit more elsewhere so when my husband asks about the disappearing grass, I can show him the new grass strip and look innocent.
