Incorporate in what way? To replace the grass/groundcover? To replace the existing walkway? To pour over existing hardscape?

Be careful about mixing in too much variety. The brick of your home is already very busy.

Where are you located, approximately? Those large trees will dictate what you can do as far as ground cover.

Is the patio wall serving a purpose? The house would look more welcoming without it. At least remove the gate and two lights. A prettier color door.

Replacing existing groundcover/partial xeriscaping. The brick is going to be limewashed white.

I am in San Antonio, TX. My original plan was to sod with St. Augustine, but am partially leaning towards a less maintenance yard.

The brick will be painted and the 2 lights will be removed. The gate will be replaced with a horizontal cedar gate. And the front door will ultimately be replaced in the near future.

This will be visually exhausting, but take some time to drive through Alamo Heights, Terrell Hills, Olmos Park, and Monte Vista. You might pick one neighborhood per day. I believe the two houses you have pictures of are in Alamo Heights. I'm thinking the top one is near the west end of College (under the water tower) and the second one might be not far away near the west end of Lamont. Take lots and lots of pictures to digest when you get home. There are some gems in those neighborhoods. If you happen to see someone outside in a nice yard, you might ask them if they know who the landscaper was. You might also call Bradford Lawton Design. I think he does more architecture, but I'm sure he has contacts for landscaping. He's across the street from Cambridge Elementary School in a funny little neighborhood building. Also it will make a huge difference if you are willing to paint your brick. Here's a house in AH with painted brick.

When the multicolored brick is not so distracting, you can go anywhere.

Yes! The first one is in Olmos Park. Such beautiful homes! I’ve seen so many, and have a lot of ideas, but I can’t for the life of me transfer those ideas to my yard! That’s what I need help with 😂
