LA is just initials from my name, I live in Lisbon, Portugal.
I brought it inside just to see if it can do well since I like how it looks. It was outside under a tree, so it was only in full sunlight for no more than a couple hours a day.
It was in an old pot and nearly dead, had no leaves on it and somehow survived. So even though I don't know what kind of plant it is I'm thinking it's very sturdy and should hopefully be OK inside in a hallway that doesn't get too much light? I might be wrong.
Do you know what kind of plant it is?

I also may be wrong but most of the images google brings up are of the flowers as well as there being many different varieties so some of them will look different to yours.

All of these below are Calla Lily leaves so you can see why I thought that :)

If this plant was established outdoors in the OP’s garden in Lisbon it is much more likely to be Zantedeschia aethiopica, Calla, than Alocasia. I maybe wrong but I don’t believe the latter would survive the winter there. I‘ve never seen Zantedeschia aethiopica succeed as a houseplant.

You are totally right Chloe! I was mostly looking at flower photos and wasn't expecting this plant to have such beautiful flowers!

As floral suggests, that looks to be the one. I don’t know much on these if I’m honest but agree with the above that this type thrive best outdoors.

It does seem that they prefer full sun to partial shade... I might try to keep it indoors for a bit to see how it does... I really like it in this spot, especially now that I know it will (hopefully) have beautiful flowers!

I think it’s very unlikely to flower indoors. Or even grow well at all. I’d really recommend putting it back outside and getting yourself a proven houseplant species.
