I have the Kitchenaid pull down microwave. Purchased it this year. What is your question?

has it been good for you? big change from traditional microwave?

I replaced a Kitchenaid with a Kitchenaid. The difference is the door swing. My original one had a side hinge. The new one drops down. I am short. I prefer the one with the side hinge. I am at chin level with the microwave door when it is pulled down. In terms of operation, however, they are the same. And I use the microwave a lot to heat things up, melt items, etc. I bake a lot and it comes in handy all the time. Do I recommend it...yes!

I must say that I was limited to Kitchenaid when I replaced my microwave. I actually had to replace a combination wall oven/microwave appliance so had little choice. People are recommending NOT to do combo appliances because even if one unit works well (my oven), when the other “dies” you must replace them both. My cabinetry could only accommodate another combo unit. But, that said...I was very pleased with my first Kitchenaid and had no reservation about buying the new one. Never had any problems with the first until it broke. After 20 years!

We needed to replace a combo wall unit. What fit our opening closest was the Kitchenaid with the drop down door. It's fine although I do wish the installation could have been about 3" lower for my height. That would be my one caution; make sure the height of the microwave will work with your height.
