FOTESS - HOSTESS SIGN-UPS for 2021

FOTESS members (only), it's that time of the year again. Please consider signing up to be hostess for one or more months in 2021. Everyone always has excellent ideas.

You don't have to have your theme in mind at this point. It can be simple since we are "simple swaps" so don't stress. Also, as you know, if something comes up another member will be happy to trade months with you or simply fill in.

If someone wants to join FOTESS (which stands for Friends of the Earth Simple Swaps) you can send a message to me to find out more.

You are also welcome to comment if you feel the group should limit swaps to every other month. I know with the cost of postage and many of us seldom getting outside our homes these days, swaps are more difficult. We usually have our Christmas cards in December so I would like to keep that month on the swap list.

I'll let others sign up first and fill in as needed. If 12 people sign up and we decide to only have 6 swaps, I know the hostess will not mind being un-assigned.

      I signed myself up for May and can do more months if needed (but please, not 10 out of 12!) I picked May thinking that the Kentucky Derby may be back to its normal schedule next year. Typically in December we create small groups to send holiday cards to each one so if someone likes that idea, it's really pretty easy to host. We don't tell who we are sending to so it can be a surprise. The recipient posts when she receives. Sometimes we add a pack of seeds or some little thing that doesn't increase the cost of postage. Of course, if you sign up for December you can use any theme you like. I just thought I would mention that idea.

      We have no one signed up to be hostess in July. If anyone can do it, let me know. It certainly can be a simple swap. If no one signs up I'll still post a heading for us and we can chat and post pictures. We also needs hostesses for Aug. and Sept. If no one is able to volunteer, I will take one of them just so we don't go so many months without a swap.
