I'm planning on turning my master downstairs bedroom with an attached 3 seasons room into a suite for my 3 cockatoos. My house is a 1920s fixerupper duplex with an interior connecting staircase and I plan on using it as a single family.

Long story but I stupidly ripped the old wood paneling off in a super failed DIY attempt when I bought the house, and now I think wood paneling is the way to go. Ceilings is also plaster. Original 1920s wood floors.

For those who have made or designed bird rooms:

• How do you protect the wood around the windows?
• How to you cover the baseboards so that the birds won't chew them?
• Obviously full spectrum lighting - is there any kind of fixture that is best?
• I'm planning on using sheet linoleum because it's cheap and will protect the wood floors... any specific kind of flooring or wood floor protector?
• How to safely soundproof?
