I don't put all traditional aside. Here's an idea for "update comfort":

my phone camera's "spot color" highlights 1 color in photo. Adds unique touch, and a black/white photo could 'show' just its pink flowers, and blend obvious modern with a beautiful frame... I love crystal shining in the sun, and stained glass too. But I don't go for much traditional generally. I want to mix my own way.... is that ok? ;)

There should be no rules - and just what is “in style?” If you love crystal frames, use them with joy!
