Should I be watering now?

Not much rain, but cool nights in the 40s and 50s. Over the last two weeks my landscaper planted some pjm rhododendron, soft touch holly, and some large white pines. Pines are in full sun. All were replacements for ones that died over the summer. The ground feels cold and not dry, but that said, we haven’t had but maybe .10 inches of rain. Should I be watering everything or just wait until the ground looks drier? The landscaper told me to water twice a week if we don’t have rain, but also said I shouldn’t overwater because that’s as bad as too little water. Ai yi yi. What‘s your best advice. Thanks.
