Yes, it is a type of Plectranthus and yes, it can be overwintered. These, like coleus (to which it is closely related), are a tender perennial so you can try wintering the entire plant or take cuttings.....or both :-) As a houseplant commonly known as Swedish ivy, it likes bright light and cool temps.

I have a different Plectranthus, but I also overwinter it in the house. It is my favorite container plant! I will cut it back some soon and bring it in. This is when it just started blooming. It is luminous now!

i prefer rooting some smaller pieces from in-ground plants ... mostly because i dont want to bring in worms and bugs into the house .. note that cyns is potted .. so at least.. no worms ...

and bare rooting a plant this late.. then changing every single variable.. including bringing it in the house is hard to do .. been there.. done that.. failed... and never tried again ... in my MI.. the biggest problem was the forced air furnace and lack of garden-like humidity in mid winter ...

whereas some small cuttings can be done ... they might not end up pretty but you can get them through ... and they take up a lot less space.. which i seem to recall is an issue ... [yes.. you said it above]
