Trim is not structural to start with. What is the "trim" material? How old is the home? Trim original? Back upas and give up a shot of the entire corner. Is this trim the same all corners? Is it all coming apart? A clearer close up would help as well.

If your trim is structural you already have much bigger problems!

Your picture shows caulk being pulled apart at the joint of the two trim boards. Clean up the joint and re-caulk it.

My thoughts as well formulaross20 but I wanted to see if we could get a clearer picture.

Could be the result of moisture getting in due to poor initial caulking. Re-nail with some galvanized nails and re-caulk.

I do not think that is structural. Wood trim requires maintenance..have you thought about replacing with pvc?

It will be a structural issue if the corner studs have moved due to foundation settlement or rotted due to water penetration. It might also be swelling of OSB sheathing or movement of the decorative stone cladding cap (that's my guess ... trim should not be touching the cap.) Someone needs to get on a ladder and look at the bottom of the trim board.
