Tell me where yours is and what do you love or hate about it?

I'm remodeling a 60's ranch with a finished basement and want a really nice laundry room since I spend most of my time there. For reference the main level is around 2700 sq.ft. and the already finished basement is 2300 sq.ft.

Here are my options:

1st - Next to Kitchen
Pros - Original location, w/d hook ups and sink already there but the original layout is awkward. Room dimension 6'9" x 11'. Has door from kitchen and one to outside, so easy access to clothes line.
Cons - Wanted to use that room as mudroom but could put a locker style cabinet and bench on covered porch outside instead. Having to bring clothes from the bedrooms across the house and thru the kitchen.

2nd - Create a laundry room between the bedrooms.
Pros - Easier to put away (or sneak in naked if not put away ;). No dragging baskets across the house, sort dirty clothes right away. Would put access from hallway and master bath or closet.
Cons - Would need to be a very small room, just enough for w/d and sorting/folding clothes. Would have to take away space from my master bath and closet, making them smaller than I would like. Also located on main floor of house but a finished basement underneath.

3rd - Create large laundry/craft room in basement.
Pros - plenty of room. Can have easy access to outside clothesline. Can have a laundry chute from upstairs.
Cons - it's downstairs away from kitchen where I spend even more time. Would need to still bring clean clothes upstairs.
