Floor install different shade

This is my first time having a hardwood floor. one of the plank inside is darker than the rest of the room, is it normal? should I tell them to change it?

Yes change the plank to match the rest of room
No it normal, don't sweat the small stuff

thank you SJ for the valuable info. it could be that pinterest spoiled me but the wood floor pictures I see don't have that much different in shade of color. this is engineered wood, maybe the color will be better after sanding? enclosed is the another view of the room, the planks in the corner and farthest look much darker.

There’s nothing wrong with the floor.

Uhhhhhmmmmm....."this is engineered wood, maybe the color will be better after sanding?"

This floor is FINISHED. It is called factory finished. It does NOT get 'sanding'. It is move-in ready.

You are 100% correct about Pintrest. These photos are often photo shopped to show a floor in a different room...ie. the room is photoshopped ONTO the floor.

We (the flooring industry) does this A LOT. You know all those cool tools on a manufacturer's website that allow you to 'visualize' your space with THEIR flooring??? Yep. It's a form of photoshop.

And just to be clear, things that are further away from a light source naturally look darker. I'm not saying the dark piece isn't there...it is. I'm saying the eye won't CARE if one plank is a little darker because the eye expects the stuff AWAY from the light source to look darker.

If you had wanted perfect you probably should have gone with a single-look tile.

And once you put furniture in you are unlikely to a good part of the board as at least some of it will probably be covered up.

Thank you SJ, it is relief to get confirmation. I was wondering about it. I need to see more real life wood floor instead of Pinterest.

thank you Sammy and mainenell, I will try to relax about the board.

Beautiful floor, now relax and enjoy it. My new engineered wood floor also has color variance, it's why I chose it.
