Maybe some floor to ceiling vertical strips of mirrors on your tv wall. I like the l-shaped sofa idea and then on the opposite side of the l slide your tv down that direction to give it balance but not so symmetrical use the mirror stripping from floor to ceiling the same width as your tv stand... so tv stand on one side right in front of your sectional without the chaise and then the mirrors on the wall in front of the chase side

Do the backside of chaise on the end between the dining room and living room—so it creates a zone between your dining and living room

You could put a single chair with ottoman facing the “ l “ of your sofa... a low 30 inch ottoman on the l-shaped end - with a flat modern serving tray if available if your serving food. Then like an 18 inch high very small end table with your accent chair

If you do a rug go big— under entire sofa and chair...width at least under entire sofa l- shape and like a 8 inches or a foot bigger than the l-shaped side...it would help it not looked so skinny
